George Mason University

If science textbooks could daydream, their thoughts would look like this terrazzo design. Whether it is the dynamic lettering that greets the young minds entering the Science and Technology II building, the helical DNA details that intersect the walls at a radius in various areas, or the massive depictions of concentric circles, the design proves to be a source of inspiration.

Terrazzo Design at George Mason University

The overlapping radial details show an inspiring glimpse into the multilayered abilities of the terrazzo medium. The use of aluminum strips at different thicknesses, custom solid aluminum lettering, and an overlapping five color design complete this terrazzo design.
