ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
More than 55,000 people visit Disney World each day. To create a magical experience, the theme park constantly maintains its rides and facilities. Over at Disney Springs, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed cement terrazzo for the new Italian restaurant Maria and Enzos Ristorante. With the theme park expanding its restaurant options, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo stepped in to help add a bit of wonder prior to its grand opening in January 2018.
Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed 4,274 square feet of terrazzo that flows throughout the restaurant from the passenger check-in lines to the check-out line of the pizzeria. With hundreds of thousands of tourists visiting the theme park daily, the restaurant needed a floor that solves two main issues: how to tackle on the constant flow of foot traffic and how to maintain a clean environment.
The terrazzo will last for decades. Known for its durability, the building material can withstand the constant pressures of foot traffic without the building owner having to fear about flooring damages. In addition to the floor’s durability, terrazzo is easy to maintain which is perfect for restaurant environments prone to the occasional spills and food stains parading on the floor. With a daily cleaning routine, the terrazzo floor looks as good as new.
Throughout the restaurant, the terrazzo floor is primarily white; however, a distinct design in colors of red, green and black is evident in different areas of the building.
