ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
As one of the largest facilities for community health-related education and research in the Mid-South, The Community Health Building at the University of Memphis is an excellent institution that promotes educational opportunities for its students. The state-of-the-art facility supports new classrooms, laboratories and offices. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo provides a durable and aesthetically beautiful flooring solution for universities across the southern United States. 11,689 square feet of epoxy terrazzo was installed with 1,081 linear feet of cove base and precast stair and risers included as well. The beautiful staircase and elaborate terrazzo design will be head turners for new students and visitors each year. With a 100 grit polish leve, the terrazzo floor matches epoxy resin colors to the colors associated with the University of Memphis. The floor incorporates a mixture of sustainable materials from cobalt blue glass to white marble chips. Universities and colleges supporting 2-year and 4-year programs will continue to embrace sustainable design in hopes that it not only produces a healthier and vibrant place for students to study and professors to work, but also a place that reduces the cost to operate and maintain a space over time.
