ABOUT THIS PROJECT:

Step into the College of Arts and Sciences Building at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and be amazed with this state-of-the-art complex that redesigned its classrooms, laboratories and staff offices with terrazzo flooring. The designers wanted a clean-room concept. Terrazzo provides those features with its seamless and aesthetically appealing design and its ease of maintenance. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo completed this educational project by installing 9,627 square feet of epoxy terrazzo, using six different epoxy colors. With a 800 level grit polish, the terrazzo floor features a creative mix design. Incorporating epoxy colors such as orange, yellow and grays, the designer decided to combine recycled materials and natural white stones into the mix. Black glass, yellow glass, clear glass, amber glass, and one sided mirror are among the recycled aggregates used in the terrazzo designs. Terrazzo flooring gives warmth, beauty and value to any given space while enhancing the learning experience for current and future students.
