ABOUT THIS PROJECT:

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed epoxy terrazzo for the hallways and cafeteria at Spencer Elementary School in Savannah, Georgia. The flooring consists of rectangular-shaped designs in various school colors. The project also includes a precast terrazzo staircase with brass railing from the ground level upwards.

The presence of epoxy terrazzo offers a clean look to the school space. The addition of the epoxy terrazzo floor and precast stairs will provide a safe slip resistant environment for young students that is visually appealing and easy to maintain over the course of the building’s lifespan. Uniquely, the terrazzo interiors use a white marble chip native to the Georgia region, which is important when meeting sustainable goals. By using building materials within 500 miles of the project site, the school helps reduce carbon footprint and be awarded LEED credit as well.
