ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
John F. Kennedy High School received a colorful designed terrazzo flooring, installed by Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo. Seven epoxy colors make up the terrazzo design of the cafeteria at John F. Kennedy High School. A wide array of aggregates including mother of pearl, an assortment of recycled glass colors, and white and black stones are part of the mix design. In addition to the installation of terrazzo floors, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo added precast terrazzo countertops that separate aisles of the dining area. The flow of lines can help students navigate through the room during a packed lunch period. The great part about terrazzo is its ease of maintenance. After lunch concludes, custodian and cafeteria staff can use a bucket of warm water and a mop to wipe away spills and other residue.
