ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
In choosing a flooring that extends for the life of a government building, there is no better choice than terrazzo. As architects seek LEED Certification points, terrazzo is an option in creating environmentally responsible buildings. Spotsylvania County Courthouse is a prime example of terrazzo providing a modern floor with durability and aesthetic beauty. Terrazzo contractor Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed the white terrazzo floors which use white and brown marble chips for aggregates. For the first floor the the courthouse, a consistent geometric pattern made with 3/8″ zinc divider strips flows seamlessly through the hallway. Precast terrazzo tread and risers and precast terrazzo tiles make up the beautiful staircase that leads to the upper floor.
