ABOUT THE TERRAZZO DESIGN AT RICHLAND COUNTY MAIN LIBRARY:
The Richland County Main Library in Columbia, South Carolina was renovated with the goal to promote creativity throughout the community. The Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installation team added 6,700 square feet of epoxy terrazzo throughout the building. For the terrazzo design, the architects decided on a white and black color scheme, with black accent squares popping out from the epoxy terrazzo floor. White and black marble chips added to the beauty of these floors, polished at a 200 level polish. Terrazzo is an excellent addition to libraries across the nation. Many designers turn to a material like terrazzo for its longevity and design flexibility, but terrazzo also can aid in reducing noise levels. With a seamless floor in place, visitors can read or study in a welcoming and serene environment.
