ABOUT THE TERRAZZO FLOORS AT THE FORT MYERS BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY:
This public library got an ocean-side view when Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed terrazzo flooring throughout the building. With ocean-inspired imagery, the community will be amazed by the dolphin and starfish terrazzo designs. As libraries adapt to meet technological changes, the designers wanted to create an atmosphere that was engaging yet relaxing. The floor’s design includes five different epoxy colors with a mixture of Mother of Pearl shells, recycled clear glass, and various colored stones. As a result, the design makes a big splash with visitors. Reading expands the mind as storytelling invites us to journey into new worlds. Terrazzo plays a part in expanding an architect’s imagination as well. With so much design potential, architects can create a whole new experience with their floor design.
