ABOUT THE TERRAZZO FLOORS AT SOUTHWEST FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
This LEED-certified project honors the history of Page Field as one of WWII’s US Airforce training bases. The airport supports space for administrative offices, a gift shop, and a car rental station. Among the sustainable features included at SW Florida International Airport are the solar panels and terrazzo flooring.
Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed durable and easy-to-maintain terrazzo flooring, that consists of Mother of Pearl, white marble chips, and other natural aggregates. Precast terrazzo tread and risers lead to the second level floor where a terrazzo floor provides a safe surface along with the balcony. Travelers will find comfort with the modern style as they travel to and from their destination. Terrazzo is designed to make travelers and visitors feel welcomed each time they step into the airport.
