ABOUT THE TERRAZZO FLOORS AT HUNTSVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

Huntsville International Airport renovated its facility to expand its baggage claim area. With passengers numbers increasing each year, an expansion was designed to provide adequate spacing and a comforting experience. Baggage claims along with airport accessibility have the greatest impact on overall passenger satisfaction. The goal of the airport was to create an area that keeps travelers on schedule and satisfied. This included improved wayfinding to help direct passengers to where they need to go.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed seamless terrazzo flooring throughout the baggage claim area. The terrazzo mix design consisted of dark-toned epoxy colors and recycled blue glass and blue-gray marble chips for aggregates that reflect the airport’s overall color scheme. The Port of Huntsville logo is found at high-traffic points such as the building’s entrance. Overall terrazzo is an appropriate flooring choice for many airports across the world. Terrazzo’s durability will combat heavy foot traffic, succeeding as a floor that can last for the decades that follow.
