ABOUT THE TERRAZZO FLOORS AT FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed 4,500 square feet of epoxy terrazzo at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Using musty green, light green, and light blue epoxy resin colors, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo was able to create a sea-like design that provides passengers and visitors with a pleasant airport experience. The sea-themed terrazzo floor found in terminal 3 includes graphics that are symbolic of the city. To this day, the area is known as Rainbow’s End, a design that reflects the environments seen in Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, and South Florida.

The professionals at Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo used a water jet machine to cut compelling artwork out of brass and other metals. Travelers who travel down the concourse will see the artwork of the local sea life that embodies the Florida waters. Images of a stingray, fishes, and aquatic machines flow with the traveler from one area to the next. According to the artists, the artwork is a meditation of the distances traveled and the larger human journey.

In times when airports are at its busiest, terrazzo is an ideal flooring option for airports around the world. They offer a durable surface to withstand the wear and tear associated with high-foot traffic. Travelers can admire the artwork beneath their feet each time they take flight at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, leaving a lasting impression of their time there.
