Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge 2019

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo was proud to help sponsor the 2019 Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge. Our CEO joined with TERRAZZCO Samples Coordinator Meagan for a 28.3 mile hike through Foothills Trail at Oconee State Park in South Carolina. This event helps grants wishes to children around the world battling with an illness. We are proud of our team for completing the day-long journey. We thank Meagan for coordinating the event for Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo.

A little rain did not stop Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo from hosting its annual company picnic. Employees from Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo and colleagues from TERRAZZCO attended the picnic at Reedy Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina where Draftsman Travis Brown prepared a delicious barbeque meal for the team and their families. Employees joined in on classic games including Tug-of-War, Balloon Toss, and Charades. We ended the company picnic on a high note with employees taking home a few raffle prizes. Once again a great time for us to come together and celebrate one another.

We had a joyous occasion during the holiday season. Doyle Dickerson Terrazo announced its first-holiday office decorating contest with Project Managers Livingston and Lisa taking bragging rights for their set-up of Santa’s workshop. We enjoyed our annual Christmas party where employees partook in the Best Holiday Outfit, Ugly Sweater, and Cookies for Santa contests. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo even brightened up a few children’s Christmas this year with employee contributions to the Toys for Tot Charlotte charity.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo held its annual Halloween costume festivities. Sinai was the talk of the day with her rendition of the famous character Jigsaw from the Horror film Saw. In less terrifying costumes, we had other creative displays including Little Red Riding Hood, a Minion, and Day of the Dead personas.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo holds a company luncheon every month for its employees. For August, the company brought in Spoon’s BBQ Truck. Employees lined up to receive a delicious meal. We appreciate all the hard work from our employees and what better way to thank them then to bring a food truck.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo held a company field day and picnic on May 19, 2018, at Reedy Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the event, the company unveiled its HARP campaign, which highlights new employee expectations. HARP stands for Honest, Accountable, Respectful, and Profitable. To honor the occasion, new T-shirts and event trophies were made for the event. For the activities, teams joined in a game of tug of war, three-legged race and water balloon toss. We thank all the employees for their hard work this year and want to thank all the families and business associates who made it out to the park.

Oh what fun it is to have our annual holiday party. Santa Jenny was back again this year to host our traditional White Elephant gift exchange game. New traditions were made, including our first-ever musical chair contest and a live musical performance led by Chris Draughn and Boutros Awad. Our employees had a festive time once again and we look forward to ringing in another successful year in 2018.

Happy Halloween 2017! Halloween has been a tradition at Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo. Every year our employees dress up in their creative costumes. This year a new tradition was made. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo held its first-ever pumpkin carving contest and the results are impressive. Congratulations to Lisa Smith for winning the inaugural event. We thank Lisa for her commitment to her craftsmanship, carving around the entire pumpkin with well-known Halloween imagery.

The entire company threw a surprise party for our Cheif Executive Officer Peter Mielcarek. Well in shock, Peter was grateful for everyone who shared this special occasion with him. We wish Peter a Happy Birthday and thank him for giving every employee the opportunity to find their passion at Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo.

To show appreciation to our entire staff, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo will now host monthly company luncheons to celebrate our employee’s work anniversaries and birthdays. We celebrated August birthdays and anniversaries with a company luncheon, with pizza on the menu. Two employees, Travis and Jenifer, celebrated their work anniversary, while an Achievement Award was presented to Jonathan, a member of our Marketing Department for establishing Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo on social media and increasing website traffic this year.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo hiked the trails of Julian Price Memorial Park on May 20, 2017. The staff at Doyle Dickerson terrazzo brought their friends and family to join in a spirited time in the Appalachian Mountains. This was a special occasion for Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo to spend some time with each other away from the office environment. We look forward to future retreats.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo partnered with CPCC and ACE Mentoring to sponsor a STEM summer camp. We were invited to the last day of camp where the campers designed and built three small libraries to be installed by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department around the Charlotte community. The theme of the event was “Think Big”, demonstrating that young minds can make a difference in the local community.

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo and Concord Terrazzo Company, along with other construction trade companies, were invited by Central Piedmont Community College to open student’s minds to new career possibilities. Our very own Superintendent Kevin McGuire showed the various tools an installer will use at a construction site, even sharing stories of the profession over his 20+ years of experience in the industry.

We are passionate about our people. Therefore, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo enjoys learning about the passions of our employees. Mark is one of our estimators at Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo who enjoys riding his BMW R 75/5. Sometimes employees catch a glimpse of the motorcycle in the parking lot. For having a nice ride, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo’s designed a collage for Mark to display in his office.
