ABOUT THIS PROJECT:

American Girl is an upscale retail store that specializes in dolls and doll accessories. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo created a unique experience for each American Girl customer when it installed terrazzo at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina. With 1,460 sq ft of epoxy terrazzo throughout the vicinity of the store, young girls can make a purchase while meeting other shoppers in an interactive area, which also includes its own bistro. The terrazzo floor shines with a level 400 grit polish. Recycled aggregates like silver coated glass and mirror glass along with a cherry red natural aggregate can be seen in the white terrazzo floors. In most American Girl retail stores throughout the country, you will see star symbols embedded into the terrazzo floor. 1/8″ aluminum strips help establish the outline of the star design. With malls being one of the busiest locations, especially during holiday seasons, terrazzo floors are a suitable addition for American Girl. The floors are durable, easy to clean and quite eye-appealing in its design.
