ABOUT THIS PROJECT:

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo worked with the architects to provide an appealing and cost-effective flooring option at Fair Street School. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo installed 20,576 square feet of epoxy terrazzo, that includes a tiger head logo that represents Fair Street School’s mascot and text box lettering that spells the school’s name. Also included with the project were 46 tread and riser combos. These quarter landing stairs were made out of precast terrazzo, which makes it easy for installers to develop the material at their company and transport to the project site. In regards to the terrazzo mix design, the flooring consists of various epoxy colors such as burgundy, and natural stones and recycled clear glass for aggregates. By using a sustainable building material such as terrazzo, schools save thousands of dollars each year in maintenance cost during terrazzo’s life cycle. Terrazzo is durable enough to last an average of 75 years, making it an efficient flooring choice for K-12 school systems.
