ABOUT THIS PROJECT:

Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo was part of the renovation of the Levine Cancer Institute at the Carolinas Medical Center. Today the healthcare environment is changing; therefore, new technology and sustainable building materials are needed to meet new standards. Terrazzo was part of the solution in redesigning the medical center. Terrazzo has many features that can aid doctors, patients and visitors alike. The seamless poured in place flooring system does not support microbial growth nor will the composition of the terrazzo emit toxic materials during the installation process or during use. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo worked diligently with the architects to come up with the most aesthetically pleasing floor possible. The floor was installed with epoxy terrazzo at 3/8″ using a mixture of yellow and dark cedar-colored aggregates.
